Do body scrubs help fade scars, a tan/tan lines ?

Im 15 and when I was younger I was kind of a tomboy so i have some scars on my arms, legs, and blister scars on my feet. I also have a tan line on my butt from last summer and it hasn't went away yet. I heard that body scrubs remove dead skin to reveal a new softer layer of skin. I was thinking about trying a body scrub from the body shop, Will the body scrub help fade my scars/ tan lines ? Whats your experience with body scrubs ? Thanks :)
